Special Education Teacher - Winona, MS

ProCare Therapy is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in Winona, MS. As a contracted Special Education Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored educational support to students with diverse learning needs. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the unique learning styles and abilities of each student.
  • Provide direct instruction and support in various academic subjects, social skills development, and behavior management.
  • Collaborate with other members of the education team, including school administrators, general education teachers, and related services providers, to ensure the effective delivery of services.
  • Monitor student progress, assess learning outcomes, and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress, including attendance, behavior records, and academic performance.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns or questions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid Mississippi teaching license with Special Education endorsement.
  • Previous experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
