As a Commercial Lines Account Manager at Sanford and Tatum, you will play a vital role in supporting our producers in the handling and processing of new and renewal commercial lines business. Additionally, you will be responsible for delivering top-tier customer service to clients, as assigned and upon request.


  • Coordinate expirations with producer to obtain renewal and/or new business information. Maintain expiration control log. 
  • Request bids from carriers; follow-up on receipt of proposals and verify bid specifications. 
  • Assist in marketing new and renewal business, determine premiums, prepare presentation packets and maintain underwriting and marketing information by carrier. 
  • Make recommendations to producers regarding quotes, ideas, and issues needing to be addressed. 
  • Check new and renewal policies for accuracy in rating, typing, coverages, signatures, and input these transactions to generate billing invoices. Ensure these items are delivered and/or mailed to client. 
  • Invoice and process all policies, endorsements, and audits. Check statements for accuracy at month-end. 
  • Receive phone calls from clients and companies regarding insurance, claims, or administrative problems. 
  • Document service issues and meetings/phone calls with clients.  
  • Maintain a suspense system to follow-up on outstanding orders, correspondence, reports, and follow-up on overdue and suspense items. 
  • Be familiar with and follow agency E&O guidelines. 
  • Perform special projects at management’s request.

  • Two to five years or more experience in similar position is desirable
  • Has Texas Property and Casualty License
  • Must be a self-starter, imaginative and creative with good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Thorough understanding of commercial lines underwriting and coverages with a strong attention to detail
  • Prior insurance experience is required and a working knowledge of AMS360 is a plus
