Role: Production Operator

By building transformers you actually help power the world around you. Electricity will always be needed, you will always be needed. No dirty factory. State of the art, clean, manufacturing facility. Extensive training provided. Promoting from within is an understatement. Just ask the 19 out of 22 Supervisors that worked their way from the production floor.


You will perform a range of tasks in the production of a transformer, including:

  • Reading, understanding and interpreting Bill of Materials (BOM), drawings, schematics, work instructions and specifications to complete assignments without (or limited) supervision.
  • Selection and preparation of materials, tools and equipment necessary to complete tasks.
  • Obtaining and/or preparing all necessary parts & materials, then performing assigned assembly of appropriate parts.
  • Operating cranes and hoist as needed.
  • Performing repairs, either inside or outside tank.
  • Training, assisting, and mentoring new team members in assembly.
  • Maintaining quality and production records.
  • Performing any related tasks as deemed necessary by supervision.

Requirements:

Basic:

  • Ability to work within the WEG Code of Ethics & Values. (WEG Code of Ethics, 4th Edition)
  • Able to work over-time as needed, including limited weekend shifts.
  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend common vocabulary.
  • Must be able to calculate basic math, including fractions, decimals and percentages.
  • Must be able to read, interpret and work from blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams, plans, layouts and/or templates.
  • Resides or intends to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Washington, Missouri.
  • Has current work authorization for employment within the United States.
  • Must complete: Job interview, pre-employment drug screen, background check, and pre-employment skill assessment.
  • Safety Sensitive Position: Drug screen includes THC.

Preferred:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Two years prior manufacturing experience.


Compensation details: 22.41-25.58 Hourly Wage
