$17.64 to $19.40 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. South Area/Melbourne. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.Performs skilled crafts and trades work operating moderately complex automotive vehicles or equipment and performing routine automotive service and maintenance. Work includes repairing potholes and utility cuts and using a digital tablet to take photographs and record the location of all repairs.

REQUIREMENTS: Three (3) years of experience operating an asphalt patch truck used to repair potholes and utility cuts;OR two (2) years of experience as a Brevard County Automotive Equipment Operator II. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Experience using a digital tablet to record the location of all repairs and take photographic documentation is preferred. Experience utilizing an electronic work order system for service requests and work orders is preferred.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. This is heavy physical work that involves exposure to hot asphalt, dirt, dust, fumes and odors, insects, working in and around moving traffic and machinery, and extreme weather conditions. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
