ProMedica is a locally-owned, nonprofit health system providing quality health care services to 27 counties in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. We offer a full range of diagnostic, medical, and surgical specialties in areas such as emergency medicine and trauma, heart and vascular, oncology, orthopedics, neurology, women’s services, and children’s services.

Under close supervision of a licensed nurse, and according to established policies, procedures and specific instructions, performs a variety of basic patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comforts of patients.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills: The ability to perform routine patient care functions such as baths, taking temperatures, pulse and respiration and blood pressures. One to four weeks of on-the-job training at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital in order to become familiar with job responsibilities and duties, the work area, and policies and procedures. Must be able to follow routine written and/or verbal instructions. Must have interpersonal skills required to communicate effectively with patients of the following ages: Pediatric (8-12 years); adolescent (13-17 years); adult (18-64 years); and geriatric (64 years and above); physicians, other hospital personnel as needed to promote quality patient care. Due to continuously changing patient census/activity and staffing needs, must have the flexibility to work a varying schedule should the need arise, which may require working a varying shift, overtime (greater than 40 hours per week) and/or shift durations that exceed the assigned status for shift length and/or hours per week.
