Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Fabrication Shop Welder to join our team. The Welder will be responsible for performing welding, cutting, and fabricating tasks within our fabrication shop. This role requires a strong understanding of welding techniques, schematics, and quality control to ensure that all products meet our quality standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Welding and Fabrication:
   • Perform various welding processes, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding, to join and fabricate metal components according to specifications.
   • Interpret drawings and work orders to determine the layout and welding requirements.
   • Measure, cut, and shape metal components using hand and power tools.
   • Align and fit parts for welding, using jigs, fixtures, and clamps.
2. Quality Control:
   • Inspect finished welds and structures to ensure they meet the required quality and safety standards.
   • Conduct non-destructive tests (e.g., visual inspections) to identify and correct welding defects.
   • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area to prevent hazards and defects.
3. Material Handling:
   • Handle, transport, and store materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
   • Operate overhead cranes and other equipment as needed.
4. Safety Compliance:
   • Adhere to all safety guidelines, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
   • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety best practices.
5. Documentation:
   • Complete job-related documentation, including work orders, time logs, and inspection reports.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Welding certification (e.g., AWS) is a plus.
• Proficiency in TIG required (MIG and stick welding is a plus).
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices in welding and fabrication.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
