Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Fabrication Shop Welder to join our team. The Welder will be responsible for performing welding, cutting, and fabricating tasks within our fabrication shop. This role requires a strong understanding of welding techniques, schematics, and quality control to ensure that all products meet our quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Welding and Fabrication:
- Perform various welding processes, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding, to join and fabricate metal components according to specifications.
- Interpret drawings and work orders to determine the layout and welding requirements.
- Measure, cut, and shape metal components using hand and power tools.
- Align and fit parts for welding, using jigs, fixtures, and clamps.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect finished welds and structures to ensure they meet the required quality and safety standards.
- Conduct non-destructive tests (e.g., visual inspections) to identify and correct welding defects.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area to prevent hazards and defects.
- Material Handling:
- Handle, transport, and store materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Operate overhead cranes and other equipment as needed.
- Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety best practices.
- Documentation:
- Complete job-related documentation, including work orders, time logs, and inspection reports.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Welding certification (e.g., AWS) is a plus.
- Proficiency in TIG required (MIG and stick welding is a plus).
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices in welding and fabrication.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
