Job Description

We are looking for an energetic, outgoing and friendly individual to join our growing team as a full-time Medical Billing Specialist in Katy. With strong experience in posting and claims resolution and working insurance a/r.

Requirements:

* MINIMUM 24 months experience working in a medical office billing setting.
Exceptional customer service with a commitment to maintaining a positive attitude at all times.
Must be comfortable interacting with patients, showing great passion and knowledge for helping others.
Strong verbal communication.
The right candidate will have a strong work ethic and be organized & detail oriented.
Must be self-motivated, able to assess what needs to be done, find a solution and execute to solve problems.
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and stay calm under pressure.
Strong phone communication skills are needed as daily work requires heavy telephone usage.
Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, medical staff and insurance companies.
Professional appearance, consistent attendance, punctuality and reliable transportation.
Intermediate to expert user of the Internet, MS Word & Excel as well as the ability to learn new software quickly.
Experience with Modernizing Medicine EMR a plus.
Experience in Dermatology Billing a plus.

Duties include but are not limited to:
Post EOB payments into the system.
Scan posted EOBs into PM software.
Work rejected claims to correct and resubmit after any identified issues are resolved.
Work denied claims, correcting and refiling as appropriate, appealing as needed to ensure payment.
Post patient payments from into PM system.
Redistribute patient payments in account.
Work outstanding insurance A/R, calling insurance companies on claims status to obtain payment for billed services.
Take patient payments over the phone.
Answer patient phone calls about billing issues, helping to resolve any problems and explain any outstanding balance with a positive and friendly attitude.
Miscellaneous other office duties as required.
