Qualifications:
Required:
- Doctorate degree.
- 1+ years of experience in any of the following:
- Geriatric Care
- Geriatric/LTC (Long-Term Care)
- Valid licenses/certifications:
- Board Certified
- Medical Doctor (MD) in Maryland (MD)
- Valid Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS)
- Valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
- Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with the frail or elderly population.
Overview:
We are in search of a Board Certified or Board Eligible Geriatric Medicine physician to join a team located in Gaithersburg, Maryland. This presents a wonderful opportunity for a Geriatrician to collaborate with a dynamic team of clinical professionals within a highly regarded healthcare organization. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide general medical oversight and supervision of participant care.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality participant care and oversee the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
- Develop and maintain medical policies, standards, and protocols.
- Direct and supervise related Primary Care Providers (PCPs) and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
- Provide leadership and guidance to program colleagues and providers in the local community.
- Conduct medical assessments, including history and physical examinations, for new participants and ongoing reassessments.
- Participate in intake and assessment decisions for applicants.
- Collaborate in nursing treatment programs for participants.
- Actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, conferences, and decision-making processes.
- Educate participants and families on health maintenance and chronic medical conditions.
- Supervise healthcare and treatment programs developed by the interdisciplinary team.
- Perform physical examinations, order and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests, and maintain systematic records of results.
- Participate in provider on-call rotation as necessary.
- Demonstrate a willingness to work in an innovative healthcare setting.
- Adapt to changing priorities to meet participant needs effectively.
Schedule and Shift Details:
- Office hours: Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
- The practice ensures 24-hour on-call coverage to address health issues for residents.
Travel:
- Willingness to travel within the region periodically as required.
