Job Description

PAY: Commission tier-based, up to 30% of each completed tow, with a weekly complementing draw

NOTE: Must reside in the area you are applying for.

MISSION STATEMENT

To provide safe, professional, damage-free towing and roadside assistance in a timely manner at a reasonable cost. We will strive for complete confidence in our services for customers, motor clubs, and law enforcement.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Tow truck operators perform towing and roadside assistance services for customers, insurance companies, fleet companies, shops, dealerships, law enforcement and motor clubs.

You will be required to know the towing capacity and limits of each truck and what each piece of equipment on the truck will do. Tow calls might include passenger cars, pickup trucks, SUV’s, motorcycles, tractor-trailers, box trucks, heavy equipment, etc.

The calls may include accidents and/or vehicle transport from home or business to repair facility.

Our towing operators also provide roadside assistance such as tire changes, lockouts, jump starts, and/or installing a battery if necessary. Other duties may include providing assistance with traffic control and/or cleanup on a call already in progress for another team member.

During the winter or rainy season, we often perform winch out services for motorists who have become stuck or have slid off the main roadway. Sometimes the job is more complex and recovery is needed, followed by a tow. You will be required to learn all aspects of recovery.

The duties of a tow truck operator consist of communicating with a dispatcher, driving to the scene of an accident or breakdown, connecting the vehicle to the tow truck, and transporting it. The driver will be responsible for attaching the disabled vehicle to the tow truck. Depending on the type of tow truck, this may include using a chain, winch, steering locks, tow dollie, and other devices as well as affixing lights onto the towed vehicle.

Big Bulldog Towing prides itself on providing professional and efficient customer service to all customers. Maintaining a professional presence for all customers, customer calls, and services to our customers is expected from all employees/contractors of Big Bulldog Towing.

Professional appearance and grooming is required. Drivers will wear clean, high-visible clothing while on duty.

Smoking is NOT allowed in company vehicles. If you are a smoker you must be courteous to smoke outside the truck and not around customers. Smoking on the premises is allowed away from the building and cigarettes must be properly disposed of in designated containers.

Drivers must possess a high level of integrity. If you cannot resist the temptation for theft then this is NOT the job for you! Customers will be placing absolute trust in you for the care and custody of their vehicle and possessions.

Company vehicles are to be kept clean, orderly and ready to work. Any issues with trucks and/or equipment must be immediately reported to management.
