Job Description for: Tooling Weld Fab

Purpose of Job:

This position reports to the Weld Fabrication (Fab) Group Leader and the Tooling Manager and is responsible for the fabrication of all needs that occur in the daily routine in the Tool Room, Maintenance, and the Press room.

Requirements:

Minimum level of education / training required/certificates/licenses:

This position requires a General Educational Diploma (GED) or High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma. Vocational and or technical training in the welding field is a plus.

Minimum experience required:

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Welding - All around welder. Appropriately knows what welding operations to use and when. (Metal Inert Gas (MIG), Tungsten (TIG), and Stick)

2. Welding- Brazing mill steel, cast, etc.

3. Welding- silver solder- tips and various metals.

4. Welding- Oxygen and Acetylene cutting torches properly used and performed.

5. Fabrication- Start to finish operation. (From sketching to a finished project).

6. Accurately finds new and better ways to do the operations, successfully see future problems. Accurately trouble shots issues that is encountered. Professionally teaches others in welding operations.

7. Precisely installs jobs that are fabricated in house or through outside equipment. Safely operates different equipment to install fabricated items. Effectively being knowledgeable of press operations, to perform proper installations.

8. Accurately performs any repair job for any equipment in- house: welding, disassembling, etc.

9. Precisely set up equipment in area for proper setting for the material being used.

10. Based on company needs a flexible work schedule and/or overtime is needed.

Environmental: Employee is responsible for complying with and supporting any environmental policies and programs put in place by Batesville Tool & Die, Inc. (BTD). Employees may not bring any environmentally hazardous substances or compounds into BTD and is always conscious of the impact on the environment. Support and adhere to Technical Specification (TS) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) activities and procedures.

Other: Perform any other duties as assigned with enthusiasm and without complaint.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is continually required to stand on concrete, use hands to handle to touch or grasp to function in the Weld-fab department. The employee is frequently required to walk, climb stairs, sit, reach above shoulders, and talk to hear. The employee occasionally is required to reach above shoulders, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, bend, twist, or crawl. The employee will also be required to frequently lift up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift up to 60 pounds. The weights above will require a tool (cherry picker or a boom on a tow motor).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is Continually exposed to dust, smoke, and fumes. The employee is frequently exposed to loud noise.
