Diesel Mechanic

At 1888 Industrial Services, we cover a wide range of industrial markets and provide services for oil & gas, commercial & industrial piping systems, full paint/coating shop services, and general commercial and industrial sectors. The mechanic will oversee day-to-day and preventive maintenance of all company fleet including heavy trucks, heavy equipment, light trucks, and more. The mechanic will work closely with teammates to repair equipment on a timely basis to ensure our operations can continue running.

Responsibilities

· Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair of equipment and tools involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems

· Inspections and diagnoses of fleet

· Properly fix and maintain vehicles and equipment

· Run diagnostic tests

· Oil changes and brake checks

· Maintain records and inventory of all parts

· Physically capable to do the job.

· Maintain the shop to a clean and safe standard

· Any other duties that may be required or assigned

Qualifications

· Have a minimum of 1 year of experience servicing and maintaining equipment daily.

· Experience must include at least 2 of the following: Heavy truck, heavy equipment, diesel, light truck, and automotive and gen set.

· Maintenance must be timely and accurate.

· Dependable, reliable, and self-starter

· Excellent communication skills

Company Requirements

· Legally authorized to work in the United States

· Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.

· CDL is a plus but not a requirement

· Salary range: $25-$40 an hour, depending on experience and/or certifications.

Physical requirements

· More than 75% of the time will be spent kneeling, bending, squatting, walking, and carrying up to 50 LBS.

· Less than 25% of the time will be spent sitting, driving, and doing desk work.
