Position Summary

The Physical Therapist Assistant provides, under the direction of the Physical Therapist, therapeutic interventions in

an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position qualifications, professional practices and ethical

standards.

Demonstrates accountability for and contributes to program development, quality improvement, problem solving and

productivity enhancement in a flexible interdisciplinary environment.

Essential Duties/Functions

• Provides appropriate therapeutic interventions as directed by the Physical Therapist.

• Evaluates patient response to treatment and provides feedback to Physical Therapist.

• Documents the course of patient care including progress made and continuing need for treatment.

• Collaborates with the Physical Therapist to develop method of delivering education to patients and their

family.

• Under the direction of the Physical Therapist, communicates with patients, caregivers and their families

regarding progress.

• Contributes to the delivery of cost-effective care.

• Reports and complaints/grievances made by the residents to the Therapy Program Director. Reports incidents

of suspected incidents of resident abuse to the Therapy Program Director and/or the Executive Director

immediately.

• Travel, as needed, to other campus locations and/or to home health assignments in the designated territory

• Additional job duties as assigned.
