A CNC (computer numerically controlled) Programmer/Machinist works with Mazak Lathes which cuts raw materials into functional items. Responsible for interpreting project drawings, designing programs and setting up machines to produce the component outlined in the program. They must perform test runs and make adjustments until the resulting product meets drawing specifications.

SCHEDULE/COMPENSATION

• Monday through Thursday (4, 10-hour days)

• 6:00AM - 4:30PM

• Possible OT on Friday and/or Saturday as production demands require

• $25-35/hr DOE



RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

• Create new CNC programs to machine parts, or modify/update existing CNC programs using CAD/CAM software and manufacturing documentation.

• Provide programming support during inspection.

• Update CNC programs as needed; work with Operators in developing their skills.

• Create new or update existing manufacturing process documentation of programmed parts.

• Assist with program issues or updates needed on a promptly manner to ensure manufacturing of parts to specification, provide programming shop support.

• Provide status to Leadership with updates and documentation as needed.

• Work with Engineers, Quality and Production team members on issues that develop.

• Reads, interprets, and follows pass downs, work orders, drawings, and work instructions.

• Work towards continuous improvement in the machine shop.

• Maintain/Enforce 6S, AS9100, and standards and practices in the Machine Shop.

• Work with Manager and Engineering to fixture and design methods of manufacturing complex parts.

• Maintain standard of quality in the Machine Shop.

• Enforces DCX-CHOL Enterprises policies and safety practices.

• Participates in training, safety, and quality programs.

• Ability to handle multiple projects and to meet deadlines is required.


QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• 5+ years of Machining experience, with at least 2+ years of experience as a CNC Programmer. Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, or trade school education preferred. Experience in the field may be substituted for education.

• Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.

• Experience with 3D modeling in CAD software and experience exporting & importing models.

• Strong knowledge of machining processes such as turning, milling, drilling and tapping.

• Must be able to read/write programs in G code, fluent in 4 to 5 axis programming.

• Experience with MAZAK is REQUIRED.

• MUST be proficient in writing programs in conversational programming & setting up MAZAK lathes.

• Must have experience programming in CAM software, Mazatrol Conversational Programming a plus.

• Understanding of fixture design, experience in selecting cutting tools.

• Must enjoy working in a team environment and have strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
