Position: Body Shop Technician

Location: River States Truck & Trailer, 3959 N Kinney Coulee Rd, La Crosse, WI 54601

Pay: $41,600 - $83,200 per year

Job Responsibilities

• Combining body & paint experience on heavy trucks (1 year minimum).
• Identifying and resolving parts required for repairs, reviewing repair orders, body shop managers estimate notes, following warranty guidelines, and notifying supervisor of any repair add-ons required.
• Adjusting, replacing, and repairing all series of makes/models (ex: sheet metal repairs, fiberglass/panel repairs, fabrication & structural welding, installing and aligning truck cab body components, electrical & mechanical repairs, etc.).
• Road testing vehicles when necessary to ensure quality repair.
• Maintaining current knowledge of job and technical skills including truck manufacturer's repair process
• Performing work as outlined on repair estimates with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Having the ability to disassemble and inspect for additional or hidden repairs.
• Advising body shop estimator of additional damage or supplemental needs or if repairs will not be completed on time.
• Leading work of any apprentice technicians and maintaining ASE certification
• Being proficient in the use of pneumatic power tools and other hand tools.
• Having the ability to understand and follow safety procedures in accordance with EPA requirements.
• Having a track record of working in a fast-paced environment, completing work with a sense of pride.
• Performing other duties assigned by a manager/supervisor; being adaptable.

Compensation

• Hourly Pay: $20-$40 per hour
• Paid by-weekly
• Efficiency Bonus Pay Eligible
• Sign On Bonus Available

Work Schedule

• 1st Shift, M-F, 7 am - 3:30 pm
• No Weekends

Requirements:

Must Have

• Minimum of 1 year experience as a body shop technician on Class 6-8 vehicles or in light-duty/automotive field.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to submit to and pass background check and drug screening test.
• Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.
• Ability to pass an annual fit test.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent customer service, verbal, written, and communication skills.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• A positive team attitude is a must!

·Would Like To Have

• Class A CDL.
• Technical degree.
• Specializing in specific areas (i.e. sheet metal repairs, fiberglass panel repairs, structural welding, installation, alignment, electrical, etc.) is a plus!
