Sales Manager

PURPOSE OF THE SALES MANAGER

The Sales Manager reports to the General Manager and is responsible for assisting with the day to day operations, asset protection and human resource functions of a retail store. Retail Store Managers will be involved in implementing strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales and increase profitability. MetroShoe Warehouse provides comprehensive retail management training and development.

SCOPE OF THE SALES MANAGER

Motivated and energetic individual who is highly organized and detail-oriented to assist in the operations of a retail store. The ideal candidate is motivated, enjoys working one-on-one with customers and employees, and thrives in a commissioned sales environment. Project a professional company image for store guests and team leading.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SALES MANAGER

Manage and motivate a team to increase moral, sales and ensure efficiency. Train store staff by reviewing orientation to products and sales training materials Deliver weekly training sessions Review staff job results and learning needs with retail store manager Implement new product training. Promote sales by demonstrating merchandise and products to customers. Identify and investigate customer complaints and service suggestions. Maintain a safe and clear store environment. Maintain inventory by checking merchandise to determine inventory levels. Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and review professional publications. Deal with staffing issues such as interviewing potential staff, conducting appraisals and performance reviews, as well as providing or organizing training and development. Tour the sales floor regularly, talk to colleagues and customers, and identify or resolve urgent issues. Help customers by providing information, answering questions, obtaining merchandise requested, and completing payment transactions

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE SALES MANAGER

Must be eighteen years of age or older. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and coworkers. Proficient in Microsoft Office. High level of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced environment. General knowledge of apparel products. Excellent leadership qualities, training and team building skills. Ability to work a flexible work schedule based on department and store needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability to communicate with customers. Ability to provide quality customer service. Ability to analyze and apply sales matrix. Strong computer proficiency and comfortable learning new computer applications. Lift and carry 25 lbs., hand/fold merchandise, climbing, reaching and pushing/pulling. High level of ownership, accountability and initiative. Willingness

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalent. College degree plus at least one year retail management experience or two to four years retail management experience
