Go Store It: Store Manager, Lake Charles

Summary: Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a self-storage facility, including renting spaces, taking payments, and maintaining the overall upkeep of the property by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manages cash and balancing receipts, pursues collections, posts payments, and processes daily bank deposits accurately and timely.*
  • Works alongside team to maximize sales objectives with each prospective customer via the phone, web, or in person on location.*
  • Recommends and implements marketing strategies based on competitor information and your own great ideas.*
  • Practices exceptional customer service by welcoming future and current customers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and professional manner.*
  • Identifies customers’ needs and provides solutions that will contribute to their storage experience.*
  • Sells/upsells high quality retail merchandise such as boxes, locks, tape, and other moving supplies.*
  • Spends approximately 50% of the time walking and tending to the property to ensure the facility is kept to the highest of cleanliness standards, including cleaning units, sweeping, mopping, changing light bulbs, and other general maintenance duties.*
  • Performs at a high level without constant supervision, but also thrives in a team environment.*
  • Builds a loyal customer base by creating great customer experiences and exceeding customer expectations.*
  • Manages the day to day operations of the business and provides mentoring opportunities with assistant managers.*
  • Responsible for general maintenance of property grounds.*
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises three employees in the Property Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Sitelink web edition, Paychex timekeeping, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Microsoft Outlook, online supply ordering, HD Supply, Office Depot, and Chateau merchandise.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
