Description:
  1. Provide direct supervision of cadets’ well-being including physical, emotional, and spiritual.
  2. Mentor and counsel cadets on mature behavior, ethics and strong leadership principles
  3. Administer discipline to cadets in violation of Academy rules set forth by the Cadet Handbook and MMA’s defined policies.
  4. Supervise, develop and train cadet leaders/officers to ensure there is proper and legal treatment of all cadets.
  5. Provide instruction of cadets in the areas of academic assistance, leadership, physical well-being, moral character, and self-discipline
  6. Promote healthy life choices, proper personal hygiene, and responsible decision making.
  7. Supervise barracks life for cadets to include activities and emotional support.
  8. Set exemplary personal example in both appearance and conduct to include military courtesies along with executing the mission of MMA through positive role-modeling and constructive interaction with cadets.
  9. Ensure prompt responses to parents’ questions, inquiries and concerns
  10. Mentor cadets in the development and execution of individual leadership, time management, ethics, and interpersonal communication skills.
  11. Conduct risk assessments as necessary for cadet activities and makes recommendations
  12. Implement appropriate disciplinary action to maintain the good order and efficiency of the Corps of Cadets in accordance with academy policies, procedures, and regulations.
  13. Other duties as assigned by Commandant of Cadets.

  5. Mature, professional, and stable demeanor when dealing with discipline issues
  6. Passion to want to make a positive difference in young men’s lives
  7. Prior Military experience preferred – Honorable service as verified on DD214
  8. Bachelor’s Degree preferred (will consider certain military qualification in lieu of degree)
  9. Abstinence from the use of tobacco and profanity when on duty.


Office Hours, Dates of Duties and Vacation

  1. Typical working hours are 1530 to 2330, forty hours a week over a schedule including weekends.
  2. Paid Vacation will be Christmas and Spring furloughs, and two weeks between September 1st and August 31st each year. Vacation time will be at the approval of supervisor.


Physical demands and work environment:


  1. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and climb stairs.
  2. The employee is frequently required to lift up to 30lbs of supplies or equipment.
  3. The employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear.
  4. The employee is regularly required to use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel.
  5. The employee is required to use computers, computer accessories, telephone, copier, FAX machine, and other such equipment.
  6. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  7. The employee is frequently required to supervise students requiring the employee to match walk a speed that coordinates with students and may at times require the ability to run to safeguard students.
  8. The employee must occasionally move equipment and/or supplies weighing up to 50lbs.
  9. The employee is frequently required to work indoors and outdoors in the heat and cold on a year-round basis.
  10. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  11. The employee is required to work with school staff, students, and parents.
  12. The employee is regularly required to handle stressful situations and resolve conflicts.
  13. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. Work is performed inside and outside in all types of weather conditions with slipping, tripping and bumping hazards.
