Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Configuration Management professional. The Configuration Management role involves establishing plans, policies, and procedures for documenting and controlling all IT-IA-IM system components, including networks, hardware, software, and associated work products throughout the system's lifecycle. This position requires creating and maintaining up-to-date records of all system components, illustrating their physical locations and links, and ensuring consistency with requirements, design, and operational information.

JOB DUTIES:

Manage the IT-IA-IM baseline configuration for all project-related work, providing both project and office-level oversight and control.

Develop policies for documenting and changing baseline project configuration items.

Participate in the evaluation of new network technologies, offering recommendations to the network architecture team for seamless integration. Ensure plans for hardware and communications are adequate, developing and implementing methodologies for analysis, testing, and support of LAN and WAN networks.

Define configuration procedures, including identification, change control, status accounting, and audits.

Utilize complex network analysis tools to identify and correct problems in the network, maintaining comprehensive logs and records associated with reported issues.

Monitor the security posture of the network, promptly reporting suspected violations to designated authorities.

Support operations, maintaining and administering networks, including hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.

Monitor the performance of systems and networks, ensuring adherence to DISA STIG guidelines.

Maintain the operational baseline and establish network standards to guarantee optimal performance.

Ensure compliance with standards for open systems architectures, reference models, and profiles, such as the IEEE Open Systems Environment (OSE) reference model, in the implementation of Information Management (IM) solutions.

Provide support to the Configuration Management Board, including scheduling meetings, developing agendas, entering board-related data in databases, and handling Configuration Control Board action items/issues.

Record and report the change process and implementation status for applications.

Track and monitor the status of Change Requests (CRs), Discrepancy Reports (DRs), and Request For Changes (RFCs) for IT-IA-IM.

Manage the configuration of IT-IA-IM software executables across environments (development, test, staging, and production).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 10 years of experience, which can be a combination of work history and education (Doctorate with 3 years, Masters with 4 years, Bachelor’s with 6 years, Associates with 8 years, or High School with 10 years).

Experience in Configuration Management principles, processes, and training, such as configuration control, identification, data management (library/repository), product release and delivery, and configuration audits.

Understanding of network equipment parent to child relationships to create, audit, and update the operational circuit database as needed.

Experience with ITSM Service Now or a similar tool that delivers enterprise service management.
