Position: Cake Decorator/Baker

Reports to: Executive Pastry Chef

Department: Bakery

Summary:

Luscious & Sweet is looking to add a Cake Decorator/Baker to our growing team. As a Cake Decorator/Baker, you are responsible for the preparation and presentation of cakes, which are often produced as one-of-a-kind baked goods. You must possess creativity, organizational ability, and a good deal of energy. Your creativity should lend itself to tying the cake into a client's theme.

Responsibilities include:

  • Complete daily store production efficiently, deliver product as needed.
  • Production of cakes and desserts which includes baking and decorating based on customer’s requests/theme.
  • Follow daily production sheet.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Comply with dress code requirements including uniform, name badge & hair cover.
  • Receiving and putting away deliveries.
  • Work as part of a team unit.
  • Clean the bakery equipment: oven, decorating utensils, workstation.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by Pastry Chef

Qualifications:

  • Work experience as a Baker/Cake Decorator or similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with professional kitchen equipment.
  • Understanding of health and safety rules in a kitchen.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work as a team.
  • Availability to work in shifts, including evenings, early mornings, and weekends.
  • Must be 18 or older.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; extreme cold and extreme heat preparing food. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
