Summary/Objectives:

The Dock Associate is responsible for supporting the acceptance of donations received at the store docking area, including loading and unloading of items and contributes efforts required to assure donated items are moved to the sales floor in a timely manner.

Essential Functions:

1. Greet donors and customers with a courteous, polite and efficient manner, offering assistance and answering questions when indicated.

2. Assist donors with loading and unloading items in vehicles.

3. Maintain and monitor trash, cardboard, recycling and other disposable items in back receiving rooms.

4. Support all backroom efforts as needed or requested to ensure donated items are moved to the sales floor in a timely manner.

5. Assist as needed or requested in placement of items onto sales floor or in the removal of items from the sales floor.

6. Maintain and ensure cleanliness of sales floor, restrooms, backroom, dressing rooms, and storage areas throughout the day. Ensure the entire dock area is well organized and free of clutter, trash and items that could be a safety risk. The parking lot and all property (including garbage area) will be well maintained periodically throughout the day by removing all trash and ensuring that there are no safety hazards.

7. Assure sales areas are properly maintained, stocked, staged, neat and orderly to help promote sales.

8. Support and assist in the electronics area as needed.

9. Other job duties as assigned.

3. Solid communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional retail environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. On a regular basis requires the ability to move and/or lift 50 pounds.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are flexible and scheduled Monday through Saturday during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel:

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience:

High School degree or equivalent with one year of experience.
