Manufacturing Engineering Technician

Join our team at NCS Technologies, Inc. as a Mechanical Engineer and play a vital role in the design and development of sheet metal rugged enclosures, sub-assemblies, and 3D printed parts. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will utilize your expertise in Solidworks to create 3D models and drawings that meet our customers' technical and environmental requirements.

In this position, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and utilize Design for Cost, Design for Manufacturability, and Design for Repairability concepts to ensure optimal product cost, functionality, and performance. You will also have the opportunity to build and analyze prototypes, incorporating feedback from colleagues and customers to continuously improve designs. Additionally, you will work closely with third-party vendors to fabricate parts and transfer design work to Manufacturing Engineering for mass production.

To be successful in the role of Mechanical Engineer at NCS Technologies, Inc., there are several key skills and qualifications that are necessary: - A minimum of a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering is required. - A minimum of 5 years of experience in design work using Solidworks or a similar CAD package is required. - Flow Analysis and Composer tool is strongly preferred. - Experience in sheet metal, machining design and fabrication, design for injection molding, and additive manufacturing (3D print) is essential.

- Proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing is required. - Experience in designing computer enclosures to withstand environmental elements as specified in MIL-STD is strongly preferred. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are necessary. - Strong work ethic and analytical skills are required, with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently. - Flexibility and agility to effectively handle escalations and time-critical issues are important.

- Working knowledge of MIL-STD-810, MIL-S-901, and MIL-STD-167 is a big plus. - The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment is necessary. - The willingness to adhere to a Work from Home (WFH) and Work in the Office (WIO) schedule at the discretion of management is required. - The ability to maintain a suitable working environment at the place of residence to project a professional image in online meetings with other parties is necessary.
