Job Description

The RNFA is a perioperative nurse who works in collaboration with the surgeon and other health care team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The RNFA is responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the OR and other areas of perioperative services. The RNFA functions as an RN first assistant during operative and other invasive procedures and throughout the perioperative continuum in accordance with the scope of practice, credentials, privileges, experience, education, and competency verification. This position reports to the Perioperative Manager/Supervisor.

This position is hourly (non-exempt).

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • Graduate of ACEN or CCNE accredited school of Nursing
  • Completion of Registered Nurse First Assist program (RNFA)
  • 2 years perioperative RN or RNFA experience

Licensure and certifications:

  • Proof of active Kansas Nursing license required
  • CNOR Certified Nurse Operating Room required
  • BLS required
  • ACLS required
