Position Value Proposition

The HR Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR leadership in supporting designated geographic regions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.

Core Responsibilities

  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; supports preparation and maintenance of the employee handbook and the policies and procedures.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Supports administration for tracking and processing employee changes as well as the compensation program; monitors the performance management program and revises as necessary.
  • Supports new-employee orientations and onboarding as well as monitors career-pathing program.
  • Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing process.
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
  • Maintains company organization charts and the employee directory.
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.

Required qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) to perform essential functions of this position:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR Management preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in HR preferred.
  • Expertise in HR policies and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of hiring process
  • Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations
  • Sound judgement and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer-focused attitude with high level of professionalism and discretion
  • Familiar with MS Office suite
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

Work Experience/Education

A bachelor’s degree and three to five years of HR experience, or a master’s degree in HR management and two years of experience in the HR field, or seven years of experience in the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience.

Software & Technology

Position will require the frequent use and knowledge of MS Windows 10, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook. ADP, Concur, Kronos TKS or comparable TKS, ERP system software (MS Dynamics AX or applicable software).


Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment, with routine travel through an industrial environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones.
