Wood Manager

All departments are responsible for preparing and fulfilling orders as necessary, helping in all areas of the department, maintaining a clean and functioning work area, and communicating diligently with coworkers and management.

Position: Wood Department Manager

The Wood Department Manager is responsible for overseeing the Wood Department and communicating with the department team and upper management as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitor priority products requests and ensure they are completed in a timely manner
• Troubleshooting CNC machines and other wood working equipment including saws, sanders and routers
• Training department employees to safely operate all department machines and equipment.
• Scheduling of department employees including approving or denying time off requests
• Managing multiple shifts as needed
• Meeting inventory need deadlines

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work well with a team and administer directions and set expectations
• Thorough understanding of CNC and wood working machines and equipment
• Ability to work longer hours, weekends and holidays as needed during peak seasons

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience in a production environment preferred
• Experience operating CNC machines and other wood working machines and equipment

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending or stooping
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
• Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect completed products for quality
