Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management

Our client is seeking an Estimator, based in Grove City, OH. This individual will be held responsible for all aspects of bidding Heavy-Civil and Marine construction projects and the following duties:

Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with project selection.
Attend pre-bid walk throughs.
Prepare accurate and detailed quantity take-offs & estimates.
Breakdown projects into functional stages.
Ability to receive and evaluate subcontractor quotes for applicable scopes and alignment with bid documents.
Developing and maintaining relationships with customer base.
Work directly with owners, construction managers, architects, engineers and contractors.
Accurately review project schedules for applicable scopes.
Review and incorporate historical data from past projects into unit and man-hour figures.
Prepare bid analysis and review with the estimating group.
Prepare budget pricing or firm proposals as required for customers.
Preparation of request for proposal for applicable scopes of work needed including understanding small business goal requirements.
Provide a financial job cost analysis and project hand-off transition to the project team including risk analysis.
Resource subcontractors, materials and equipment.
Provide leadership to others through example and by sharing knowledge and skill.

Requirements:
Associates or Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred or a
combination of experience, technical training and/or education is acceptable.
Ability to read, understand and interpret specifications and drawings.
Excellent communication skills and leadership ability.
High level of attention to detail and cost analysis.
Ability to accurately read schedules for sequencing and durations of applicable scopes of work.
Proficiency with computer takeoff & estimating software such as HCSS, Heavy Bid as well as use of the Microsoft Office package.
Ability to juggle multiple projects and keep each on schedule ensuring that all deadlines are met.
Ability to communicate well with all levels of employees within the company.
Must be flexible and enjoy working with a diverse group in a fast-paced environment.
Team player attitude.
