Job Overview:


We’re searching for an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join our high-performing team and keep our finances positioned for dramatic growth and continued market success. The CFO has overall responsibility for the financial management, capital deployment and fiscal integrity of the company. This leader will partner closely with the CEO, COO and CPO, as well as the Board and Corporate Sponsors, to ensure the appropriate financial and operational processes and systems are in place to drive Ledge’s strategic growth initiatives and deliver exciting value creation.

The CFO must be a strategic and operational executive – capable of driving strategic plan development and long-term growth platforms, while also being an astute analytical force who can guide company investment decisions, operational execution, and delivery of forecasted financials and KPIs. This individual must also be an exceptional leader of teams who can contribute to organizational growth and development.


Key Responsibilities:


  1. Accounting, Tax, and Treasury: the CFO will guide the accounting function and organizational controls, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other financial standards. Responsibilities extend to overseeing tax planning, managing external audit processes, and implementing effective risk management strategies. With a keen eye on financial controls, he or she will manage the Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Cash Flow delivery, along with all capital investment activities. Expertise in the preparation and communication of comprehensive financial reports, including accruals, reserves, adjustments, valuations, etc., is important.
  2. Financial Planning & Analysis: the CFO will spearhead data-driven FP&A processes to deliver analytics excellence across the organization and fuel sound decision making. He or she will drive the annual budget planning process and quarterly reforecasting efforts, as well as monthly financial reviews to analyze spending patterns and evaluate returns on investment against clear financial goals. Supporting financial decisions and KPI analytics for Sales and Marketing, as well as for R&D and Product Development, will be important in this role, as will optimization of ERP and BI systems to improve financial analytics.
  3. Operations Cost Finance: the CFO’s oversight extends to cost accounting and financial planning within our manufacturing operations and supply chain cost centers. Experience delving into cost structures and margins, as well as understanding monthly operating variances versus forecast, is highly important. In addition, he or she will be a key sponsor for productivity and VAVE initiatives, and inventory turn improvement. The CFO will also play a crucial role in the planning, execution, and management of capital expenses to enable business growth.
  4. Investors, Creditors & Stakeholders: the CFO will actively collaborate with private equity sponsors, and maintain close partnering relationships with our banks and lenders. He or she has ownership for the overall economics of the business and entity, and has accountability for delivering financial commitments to these external parties. In addition the CFO will work very closely with the Board of Directors to ensure we stay on track to financial and strategic objectives.
  5. Executive Leadership: the CFO will be a key leader in the organization, not only over the Finance functional team, but broadly across the enterprise. As a member of the executive leadership team he or she must be a strong communicator and exemplify integrity, results orientation, teamwork and collaboration, and broad alignment with Ledge’s culture and values.
  6. Inorganic Growth & Strategic Transactions: the CFO will assess, value, conduct due diligence, and integrate prospective inbound acquisitions with excellence. In addition, exploring opportunities for licensing, joint ventures, geographic expansion agreements or other strategic partnerships will be part of their purview. Other responsibilities to be added as we grow.
Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Experience as CFO in a private equity backed company. Ideally should be a hands-on leader capable of thriving in a lean, fast-paced environment at high- and low-altitudes.
  • Extensive experience in consumer goods industry, ideally in brand-driven consumer durables.
  • Experience in omni-channel selling environments, with direct online, retail and wholesale channels concurrently operating, ideally including significant digital or performance marketing investment centers.
  • Strong management accounting experience and significant experience leading an enterprise Finance function with full ownership of balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows, working capital / inventory management, etc.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with substantial in-sourced production and internal cost-of-goods, as well as transportation and distribution management.
  • Experience regularly interacting with a board of directors, PE sponsors, lenders, bankers, external auditors, and other external stakeholders; strong communication skills and executive presence is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial management systems, ERPs, business analytics / BI, planning, forecasting, budgeting, margin monitoring and control processes. Technical skills should include prior tax optimization, treasury, and consolidation.
