safety training programs. Responsible for maintaining vehicle maintenance program to include: Clerical duties, conducting vehicle inspections, performing administrative duties, and driving as needed.


QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 21 years of age and a high school graduate or equivalent; have four (4) years of relevant experience; and have effective communication skills and able to work independently. Must provide own transportation, have a valid Kentucky operators' license with no record of substance abuse related violations in the past three (3) years. Must pass DOT physical and have a clean motor vehicle record check. Proficiency in MS-Office software. Previous experience as a trainer and preparing training materials preferred. Must type 30 wpm.


SKILL SETS: Must have effective communication and writing skills.


PHYSICAL AND ENVIORMENTAL DEMANDS: Visual and hearing acuity required in coping with traffic situations and daily contact with consumers and others. Frequent crawling, stooping, kneeling while performing vehicle inspections. Manual dexterity required in assisting with ambulatory or helping into vehicle. Frequent exposure to adverse and inclement weather conditions. Manual dexterity required to perform on the spot corrections on vehicles using tools. Interacting necessary to coordinate and resolve transportation issues. Standing, sitting and talking for long periods of time.


JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:

  1. Conducts vehicle operator and safety training.
  2. Conducts fork truck operator and safety training.
  3. Analyzes training needs to develop new training programs or improve existing programs.
  4. Develops, organizes, and maintains lesson plans, instructional materials, tests, and attendance records for vehicle and fork truck and safety training programs.
  5. Schedules agency vehicles for periodic, routine, and emergency maintenance services.
  6. Maintains vehicle service records.
  7. Schedules and maintains records for all required vehicle inspections, including DOT.
  8. Recognizes and corrects vehicle and fork truck mechanical deficiencies and coordinates repairs to ensure minimal down time.
  9. Perform general office/administrative duties (filing, categorize, alphabetize file retrieval etc.)
  10. Complies with agency and other providers' vehicle safety programs.
  11. Drives consumer routes and shuttles vehicles throughout region.
  12. Assists passengers during loading and unloading from vehicles.
  13. Participates in agency continuing quality improvement (CQI) activities.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Adheres to Communicare, Inc. policies and procedures.
  2. Attends mandatory in-services and other training/educational programs as required.
