The Senior Project Superintendent is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the renovation project on-site and for ensuring safety compliance and quality standards. This position works with DYA staff, monitors the renovation process and ensures the project is completed on time and according to specifications. The Senior Project Superintendent supervises the Project Superintendent onsite as well as:

  • Tracks and maintains production schedules, critical path items and contractor schedules to ensure timely project completion.
  • Reviews all construction documents and ensures the project is renovated to specification and according to all building codes and client requirements.
  • Proactively identifies design deficiencies, schedule concerns or other project specific issues.
  • Meets weekly with on-site property team. Daily communication with subcontractors to assess progress, schedule, changes, inspections and deliveries.
  • Assumes overall responsibility for a clean, safe project site and for quality control. Handles all compliance of the safety program.
  • Updates and maintains all documentation with RFI’s, inspection logs, punch lists and reports.
  • Performs daily floor inspections to ensure quality standards are being met. Schedules project specific municipal inspections. Conducts final pre-closing walk throughs with customers and customer service/warranty coordinator.
  • Identifies conflicts in construction progress and communicates them to the project team for resolution.
  • Schedules, receives, inspects and inventories all delivery of materials from warehouse.
  • Maintains relationships with Hotel Operators, Hotel Owners and Construction Representatives as well as develops relationships with project vendors, suppliers, and trade contractors.
  • Assists trade contractors with hands on work as/when needed.
  • Leads and supervises Project Superintendent on the project

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 8+ years’ experience with guest room renovations and an in-depth understanding of construction operations and processes
  • High School degree is required
  • OSHA 30
  • Experience with Procore a plus
  • Must be willing to travel extensively and work and live onsite through completion of project
  • Must have experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word & Excel)
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to build relationships

  • This position involves work at a construction site where duties will be performed both indoors and outdoors
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to climb stairs, stand and walk, and lift and move materials
