Job Description
  1. Objective:
The primary objective of the OEM Assembler is to perform light assembly functions on OEM production lines.

  1. Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Flex at different flow processes along the assembly line as needed
  • Maintain all work areas to comply with 6S (sort, set, shine, standardize, sustain, safety)
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor
  • Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per P.M. charts
  • Execute and complete customer orders per daily production schedule as well as any tasks given by management with minimum supervision
  • Ability to apply common sense and competence to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
  • Adhere to all assembly processes
  • Maintain daily production schedule to meet team goals
  • Do not overbuild or under build orders without being approved by management
  • Team members are responsible for the quality of each product
  • Use all measuring equipment consistently and accurately
  • Down Time: Team members are always to keep busy during work hours
    • Wipe down equipment
    • Clean work areas
    • Organize areas
    • Replenish stock
    • Empty trash bins
    • 6S OEM facility
  • Additional duties as assigned

  1. Role Requirements:
  • Educational
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience
    • Previous related experience preferred
  • Certifications
    • Forklift Operator Certification or willingness to obtain
  • Training/Knowledge Required
    • Auto Saw Operator (Marken 550)
      • Basic hydraulics training (training coordinator)
      • Assembly training (training coordinator)
      • Correctly identify all hose types
      • Know how to download saw data from “Kits” drive onto saw
      • Able to navigate and adjust data on the auto saw computer
      • Perform preventative maintenance and upkeep on saw and printer
      • Capable to load and unload hose
      • Know which hose guide housing to use
      • Know how to adjust printer head so print text/layline is correct on hose
      • Read and understand kit sheets
      • Know the process when cut length is unknown
      • Stage and prepare hoses for next day workload
      • Fill out and sign hose inspection sheet correctly
      • Understand when to stop cutting hose and help on assembly line
      • Know how to process orders for each customer
      • Perform cut off length measurements with calibrated tools
      • Measure first hose for each new line item to make sure cut length is correct
      • Know how to operate and navigate saw printer
      • Understand protocols and processes when being the auto saw operator
    • Semi-Auto Saw Operator (OP)
      • Basic hydraulics training (training coordinator)
      • Assembly training (training coordinator)
      • Correctly identify all hose types
      • Perform preventative maintenance and upkeep on saw
      • Know how to operate OP saw
      • Capable to load and unload hose
      • Perform cut off length measurements with calibrated tools
      • Read and understand kit sheets
      • Make sure kit sheet has cut length for each hose line item
      • Know the process when cut length is not stated in kit sheet
      • Know the process when cut length is unknown
      • Stage and prepare hoses for next day workload
      • Fill out and sign hose inspection sheet correctly
      • Understand when to stop cutting hose and help on assembly line
      • Know how to process orders for each customer
      • Measure hose to make sure cut length is correct
      • Understand protocols and processes when being the OP saw operator
      • Properly identify fittings by size and series
      • Know how to operate chop saw
    • Manual Saw Operator
      • Basic hydraulics training (training coordinator)
      • Assembly training (training coordinator)
      • Correctly identify all hose types
      • Perform preventative maintenance and upkeep on saw
      • Capable to load and unload hose
      • Read and understand kit sheets
      • Make sure kit sheet has cut length for each hose line item
      • Know the process when cut length is not stated in kit sheet
      • Know the process when cut length is unknown
      • Stage and prepare hoses for next day workload
      • Fill out and sign hose inspection sheet correctly
      • Must be able to complete all marking tasks
      • Must be able to complete all pigging tasks
      • Knowledge on how to operate manual saw
      • Perform cut off length measurements with calibrated tools
      • Properly identify couplings by size and series
      • Know how to operate chop saw
