Location: Hybrid, weekly meetings on site at 1919 North Lynn Street Arlington, VA 22209 and 1300 Pennsylvania Ave NW Washington, DC 20004 as needed.

Position Description: The Management Consultant Communications supports strategic activities and assists the team with internal and external communication planning and implementation utilizing communication channels and multi-media. This position is hybrid and supports the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Minimum/General Experience: 4 years of experience as a Communications Analyst

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in communications or related field

Essential Skills/Qualifications:

  • Above average experience designing quality and professional communication work products
  • Above average experience with Microsoft Suite (e.g., Excel (V-Lookup, pivot tables, formulas), PowerPoint, Word)
  • Experience supporting the planning and execution of strategy and communication efforts
  • Experience researching and investigating workstream problems and recommending solutions
  • Experience developing job aids, video tutorials, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Experience creating meeting agendas and leading meetings
  • Experience tracking key milestones and providing status reports
  • Proficient in business writing skills (e.g., proofing, logistics, editing)
  • Knowledge and understanding of project management skills (e.g., project plans, timelines, milestones)
  • Ability to learn technology and develop training for end-users
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Security: Ability to obtain/maintain a Federal Civilian Public Trust

  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident that has lived in the United States for at least 3 years

Federal Civilian Public Trust Consists of a review of up to but not limited to:

  • Covers 5-10 year period and in some instances lifetime events
  • OPM Security Investigations Index (SII)
  • DOD Defense Central Investigations Index (DCII)
  • National Agency Check (NAC) records

  • Written inquiries to previous employers and references listed on the application for employment
  • Potential interviews with the subject, spouse, neighbors, supervisor, coworkers

Tasks/activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides administrative support to the project team in the planning and execution of strategy and communication efforts
  • Designs and submits quality, well-formatted, clean, and professional communications work products
  • Leverages internal and client resources as available to research and investigate workstream problems and recommends impactful approaches and solutions
  • Develops job aids, video tutorials, and SOPs to support the implementation of a project
  • Creates and edits training documents to support the delivery of project
  • Conducts pilot success profile effort for two bureaus identifying critical skills and competencies needed for positions to be successful
  • Creates general project plans and manages timelines/milestones
