Designer - Fire Alarm / Sprinkler

What we are looking for…

Industry Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience designing Fire Alarm, Fire Suppression. Will waive for promising entry level candidate.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD software to ensure efficient and accurate production of shop drawings and as-builts, along with Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • NICET Level II in relevant field with a preference for NICET III or IV. Will waive for promising entry level candidate.
  • Effective communication skills, analytic skills, understanding and application of Maryland/DC/VA Fire Prevention Codes, NFPA codes and other codes as they apply to your field of work.
  • Knowledge in performing the following tasks:
    • Creating submittal packages of designed systems using manufacturer’s data sheets.
    • Creating shop drawings for approval and field use using AutoCAD for fire alarm/fire suppression/fire sprinkler/hood or other systems as directed.
  • Coordinating with project managers/sales staff about project details.
  • Ability to attend project meetings when requested whether internal or off-site.
  • Creating OEM manuals and coordinate delivery to the client as needed in either electronic or hard copy.
  • Creating as-builts drawings based on field personnel direction.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must be 18+.
  • Provide technical support to field personnel and clients.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Our designers primarily work indoors with occasional visits to jobsites that may be outdoors.
  • The ability to read, speak, sit, stand, walk, use your hands, reach, climb ladders, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Fireline is a drug-free company. Employees will be required to take a drug test at the time of hire and periodically throughout their employment. This will include the testing of cannabinoids (marijuana), opiates, amphetamines, and methamphetamines. Fireline is a DOT regulated business working in the life safety industry and per DOT rule 49 CFR Part.
