Looking for seasonal outdoor work? We are hiring!
The City of Portage is looking for reliable, results-driven individuals with stamina for the position of Seasonal Grounds person within our Public Works Department. This position will assist Maintenance Technicians in performing park and cemetery general maintenance. The primary duties will include weed whipping, mowing, and leaf blowing. Other duties may be assigned based on needs and experience, including brush pick-up and household waste pick-up early in the season. Candidates must be able to lift objects and tools over 50 lbs. and work under adverse weather conditions. Previous experience in basic lawn care is desired.
The hourly rate is $15-$16/hour based on age and driver's license. Must be a minimum of 16 years old, pass a basic background check, and drug/alcohol screening. Reliable transportation is required. The hours are 7:30 AM - 4 PM, Monday - Friday. There are no benefits offered with this position.
