The Commercial Lines Independent Contractor Salesperson will solicit new business and provide services for maximizing profitable relationships with insureds/prospective insureds.

Responsibilities

Contracted Activities

  • Identify, qualify, and develop opportunities with new and existing insureds in person, online, by phone, and through written communication.
  • Obtain proposals from various carriers for prospective insureds based on their expressed needs, process proposals, and bind coverage. Follow-up with insureds and carriers requests as necessary with inspections, photos, and other requested documentation.
  • Support and prepare insureds for renewal and retention while maintaining strong relationships with insureds through regular communication.
  • Collaborate with Agency employees and management and participate in Agency meetings as needed.

Requirements

Desired Characteristics

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of insurance products and usages, rating procedures, underwriting procedures, coverages, and industry operations to effectively secure new business and maintain existing accounts.
  • Possess strong presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills with the ability to close sales.
  • Demonstrate sound business judgment, strong decision making, and display strong written and verbal communication skills.


Requirements

  • Hold and maintain a P&C insurance license, while meeting corresponding CE requirements required by the state that the Agency and Independent Contractor Salesperson is operating in.
  • Keep informed regarding industry information, new and existing product information, legislation, coverages, and technology to continuously improve knowledge and services.
  • Currently have or plan to obtain a Life & Health Insurance license.
