Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a remarkable Food & Beverage Supervisor for the Hilton Brentwood Suites in Brentwood, TN.

Assists the Food & Beverage Manager with the Food & Beverage Department to maintain high standards of food and beverage quality, service and merchandising to maximize profits.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Clearly describe, assign and delegate responsibility and authority for the operation of various food and beverage sub‐departments, e.g. room service, bar, restaurants, banquets, kitchens, steward, employee cafeteria, etc.
  • Assist with the development, implementation and monitoring of all schedules for the operation of all restaurants and bars to achieve a profitable result.
  • Assure that that all food and beverage product is presented and designed to attract a positive experience for all guests.
  • Assist in monitoring effective control of food, beverage and labor costs among all sub‐departments.
  • Assist the Food & Beverage Director in establishing and achieving desired standards of quality food, service, cleanliness, merchandising and promotion.
  • Regularly review and evaluate the degree of customer acceptance of the individual restaurants and banquet service, and report findings to the Food & Beverage Director.
  • Continuously evaluate the performance and encourage improvement of the personnel in the food and beverage department.
  • Assist with the recruiting, training, and counseling of all team members in the food & beverage department.
  • Attends all food & beverage outlet department meetings.
  • Able to fill in for any open positions as needed to maintain the operation of the department

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

  • In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of hands-on supportive functions in all areas, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.
  • Operate word processing and reporting programs on computer.
  • Perform any general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products to adhere to health standards.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by Food & Beverage Director.

HOURS AND ATTENDANCE

Up to 40 hours per week with varied and flexible shifts/days, likely to include nights, weekends, holidays and overtime. Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by the Hotel from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

SPECIFIC POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to move throughout all food and beverage areas and continuously perform essential job functions.
  • Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
  • Hearing, smelling, tasting and visual ability to observe and distinguish product quality and detect signs of emergency situations.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Working Environment / Physical Activities:

  • Inside with protection from weather but not necessarily changes in temperature.
  • Requires lifting of 20 pounds with frequent lifting and or carrying of objects weighing 10 pounds. Walking and standing are required to a significant degree. Physical activities include walking, talking, seeing, hearing, reaching, stooping, fingering, feeling, grasping, holding, bending, lifting and carrying.
  • Requires the use of body members, hand tools, and or special devices to work, move, or carry objects of materials.

Education:

  • High school diploma required. Culinary, sales and service background required. College degree in related field preferred.
  • Must have valid ABC serving permit and Servsafe certification

Experience:

  • Preferred experience in restaurant, bar, banquet, stewarding, kitchen, sales, catering and supervision.
