Position Summary:
As a Payroll Tax Manager, you will oversee all aspects of payroll tax compliance and reporting to ensure accuracy and adherence to regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for managing a team of payroll tax specialists and ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll tax filings, payments, and reconciliations. Additionally, you will stay updated on tax laws and regulations, implement process improvements, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to address any payroll tax-related issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • LMA (Lead, Management, Accountability)
  • Develop an innovative and sustainable process to ensure accuracy and integrity of payroll tax data.
  • Manage and supervise a team of payroll tax specialists, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
  • Oversee the preparation, filing, and payment of federal, state, and local payroll taxes, including income tax withholding, unemployment tax, and other applicable taxes.
  • Oversees and manages quarterly and yearly tax payment and notice process.
  • Oversees accuracy of tax set-up, YTD reconciliation, and initial payroll run for new clients.
  • Ensure compliance with all payroll tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations and assess the impact on processes and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, such as finance, accounting, and human resources departments, to ensure alignment on payroll tax-related matters.
  • Review payroll tax returns and reconciliations for accuracy and completeness, resolving any discrepancies or issues promptly.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls and procedures to mitigate payroll tax-related risks.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to streamline payroll tax processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Provide leadership and support during payroll tax-related projects, such as system upgrades or implementations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on payroll tax matters, providing guidance and assistance to internal teams as needed.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on payroll tax compliance, filing status, and any significant issues or developments to management.
Job Location: Onsite
Salary: $80,000-$90,000

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
  • Associate degree in accounting is required.
  • 5+ years’ experience in the Payroll Tax field.
  • Prior management experience required.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to review and interpret complex tax documents and reports.

  • Strong understanding of payroll processing systems and tax software

This is a full-time position.  Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM EST. Overtime and weekends may be required during necessary critical periods to meet deadlines or when Doyle HCM is dealing with unpredictable increases in workload.
