Job Description:

The hotel laundry attendant plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the hotel's linens, uniforms, and other laundry items. As a hotel laundry attendant, your primary responsibility is to ensure that all laundry tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. You will work closely with the housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure a seamless flow of laundry operations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Sorting and Processing: Sort, classify, and process all hotel linens, uniforms, towels, and other laundry items according to the established guidelines and standards. This includes checking for stains, damages, and repairs that need to be addressed before laundering.
  2. Operating Laundry Equipment: Operate industrial washing machines, dryers, pressers, and other laundry equipment efficiently and safely. Follow proper procedures for loading and unloading laundry, adjusting machine settings, and using laundry chemicals.
  3. Stain Treatment: Identify and treat stains on various types of fabric, employing appropriate stain removal techniques and products. Ensure that stains are adequately addressed before laundering.
  4. Folding and Packaging: Fold, stack, and package laundered items neatly, following the hotel's specific guidelines. Ensure that all items are presented in a professional and presentable manner.
  5. Inventory Management: Maintain an accurate inventory of linens, uniforms, and other laundry items. Keep track of stock levels and report any shortages or damages to the supervisor promptly.
  6. Quality Control: Inspect laundered items to ensure they meet the hotel's quality standards. Replace or repair damaged or worn-out items as needed.
  7. Safety and Maintenance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Report any malfunctioning equipment or maintenance issues to the supervisor.
  8. Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with the housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure a smooth workflow. Assist in other housekeeping tasks as required during peak periods or when necessary.
  9. Adherence to Policies: Adhere to the hotel's policies, procedures, and guidelines at all times. This includes maintaining confidentiality, handling lost and found items appropriately, and following proper laundering and sanitation practices.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a similar role or knowledge of laundry operations is preferred.
  • Familiarity with industrial laundry equipment and chemicals.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify stains and damages.
  • Physical stamina and ability to handle repetitive tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy laundry items.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors effectively.
