Citizens National Bank has an excellent opportunity available in our Bluffton market for a Chief Lending Officer. In this role you will provide support to the President/CEO of the financial institution in areas of leadership, direction, development and implementation of financial institution policies and procedures. This position oversees the management, direction and development of the Lending Department as well as the Bank's loan asset portfolio totaling over $800MM.

A typical day may include the following:

  • Develops, maintains and enhances lending and operating policies consistent with those established by the financial institution in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Develops and manages an annual budget for the Lending Department.
  • Develops new lending products and pricing structure.
  • Maintains close and regular contact with staff to offer guidance and direction to all lending and lending operations personnel, suggests promotions, additional training and other personnel development as needed.
  • Advises lending officers as needed, and offers assistance and resolution to customers with difficult issues.
  • Provides regular reports to the Board of Directors regarding the activities of the Lending Department.
  • Manages credit extensions, as approved by the Board of Directors.
  • Actively promotes and develops new loan, deposit, and treasury management business for the financial institution personally or through subordinates.
  • This position requires travel to outside offices/locations at times to meet with management, staff and others, however on-site presence is also necessary for regular, successful performance.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree, MBA preferred. Seven to ten years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Extensive leadership, supervisory, and managerial experience. Continuing education to remain current with area of responsibility.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of federal, state and local loan programs as well as experience with Residential, Commercial and Agriculture loans is desired.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and general public.
  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must have the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Strong financial analytical and underwriting skills.
  • Proficiency in computer software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
