Wurzak Hotel Group is looking for an experienced Guest Service Agent to support the Front Desk of our Marriott award winning recently renovated Sheraton Hotel in Reston, VA. A Guest Service Agent are often the face of the hotel, and their role is vital in creating a positive first impression for our guests.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a customer-focused mindset serving as the first point of contact for guests.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests, answering inquiries, and addressing concerns in a polite and professional manner.
  • Check-In/Check-Out: Assist guests with the check-in and check-out process, ensuring accurate and efficient handling of reservations and payments.
  • Reservation Management: Manage room reservations, including making new reservations, modifying existing ones, and ensuring accurate room assignment based on guest preferences.
  • Information Dissemination: Provide information to guests about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions. Offer recommendations for dining, entertainment, and other activities.
  • Handling Payments: Process payments, issue receipts, and handle financial transactions accurately. This may involve handling cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment.
  • Phone and Email Communication: Answer phone calls and respond to emails, directing inquiries to the appropriate department or individual. Take messages and assist with guest requests.
  • Problem Resolution: Address and resolve guest issues or complaints promptly and effectively, ensuring a positive guest experience.
  • Security and Safety: Monitor and maintain the security of the front desk area, ensuring the safety of guests and their belongings.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform various administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and maintaining guest records. Use computer systems and software to manage reservations and guest information.
  • Collaboration with Other Departments: Coordinate with other hotel departments, such as housekeeping and maintenance, to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Hospitality Etiquette: Exhibit professionalism, friendliness, and a welcoming attitude to create a positive and inviting atmosphere for guests.
  • Multitasking: Handle multiple tasks simultaneously, such as managing phone calls, assisting guests, and handling administrative duties.
  • Knowledge of Policies and Procedures: Stay informed about hotel policies, procedures, and services to provide accurate information to guests.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Hotel Front Desk Agent, Receptionist, or similar role preferred
  • Flexible Availability
  • Customer service experience
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
