Position Overview

Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a Davey Company, is seeking a water resources engineering project manager with a passion for floodplains, streams, wetlands and dams. Projects will include floodplain studies, FEMA LOMC processing, hydrologic studies, hydraulic pipe and storm drain analysis, dam inspections, stream restoration, low impact development, and wetlands mitigation design.

Primary Duties

• Hydrologic watershed analysis
• Hydraulic analysis/design of open and closed drainage systems
• Floodplain development consulting, analysis
• Floodproofing and flood mitigation design
• FEMA map revision requests
• Storm drain analysis/design 
• SWM/LID/BMP design
• State and County dam inspections, dam safety compliance 
• Stream restoration design and management
• Stream assessment and monitoring
• Stream restoration construction oversight
• Wetlands mitigation design
• Project Management with client and public interaction
• Preparing presentations for meetings, hearings and client review
• Other civil and environmentally-related studies 
• Autodesk® computer aided design work
• Proposal writing 

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/water resources
• Minimum 6 to 10 years of relevant experience
• PE in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering
• Experience in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and TR-55

 

PREFERRED:

• Experience with floodplain modeling (2D a plus) and FEMA map revisions
• Experience with dam break studies and inundation mapping
• Experience with closed storm drain systems design and analysis
• Experience with Clean Water Act and Chesapeake Bay regulations
• Rosgen Levels I - IV (or equivalent) stream assessment and restoration training
• Experience working with a diverse client base in both the public and private sectors
