WRA is currently seeking a Bridge Engineer Intern in our Fairfax office to work on VDOT and/or municipal localities' projects in central and eastern Virginia. Some field work will occur. A car is required for this position.
Interns will receive training in preparing designs and contract documents for the repair or replacement of various types of bridge structures. Work may also include performing field inspections of highway bridges, documenting defects, preparing reports, and completing computations to calculate the load ratings of various bridge types.
Requirements:
- Current enrollment in Civil Engineering bachelor or master program
- Hands-on experience with MicroStation software a plus
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with others
- Willingness to take on new challenges and learn more about the field
