About this job

Job Description

The main purpose of a Supply Planner is to generate valid production and supply plans utilizing the Kinaxis RapidResponse planning software and the SAP Module PPDS (Production Planning Detailed Scheduling). The supply plan covers a rolling 24-month horizon that ensures supply of finished products and intercompany semi-finished products to satisfy identified demand while aligning with the IBP inventory status quo. The Supply Planner is considered a Subject Matter Expert in his/her field and partners cross functionally with Commercial Operations, Global Planning, Kankakee Operations, and Product Care to identify and verify changes in demand, raw material or capacity availability.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes demand forecasts and sales trends to conduct scenario analysis and capture outcomes, impacts and observations scenarios. Utilizes collaboration feature in RapidResponse to proactively manage and align on key planning decisions with broader planning community and checks the feasibility of options and proposed actions with other functions. Develop financial implications of the supply plan and scenarios. Generates supply plans, capacity plans, master production and plasma demand schedules in Rapid Response and SAP module PPDS (Production Planning Detailed Scheduling).
  • Coordinates and maintains master planning data and planning parameters. Identifies and adjusts constraint data, BOM structures, planning time fences, lead times, and other key parameters while leveraging SAP and RapidResponse capabilities to drive productivity at the Kankakee site. Performs daily maintenance in SAP to cleanse and reschedule open orders and inspection lots.
  • Creates production schedules for each assigned product group using SAP module PPDS (Production Planning Detailed Scheduling) that are developed and maintained to support sales goals, inventory financial targets, as well as minimizing the age of product when shipped to a customer. Works closely with these Production Schedules to assure the readiness of valid shop documentation and controls and generates component purchase schedules that promote cost effective production, warehousing, and laboratory operations.
  • Anticipates and resolves conflict between support of finished goods, packaging, and purchasing schedules and concurrent or future demands on manufacturing, materials, and support services resources. Utilizes supply planning dashboards, scorecards, and other KPIs within RapidResponse to identify root causes and develop plans to meet performance targets.
  • Assists in Inventory Control Analysis and Reporting to ensure adherence to sound inventory management and control practices. Review and agree on normal stock levels while taking into account exceptions and future projects. Manage finished goods inventories for assigned items in order to achieve the company's financial targets. Planner initiates action strategies to prevent Inventory burden, capacity backlog, and finished goods rescheduling.
  • Manages activities within and outside of the production planning group to minimize work-in-process inventory obsolescence and aging costs and to expedite the disposition of quarantined and rejected inventories.
  • Develops Supply Review Meeting (SRM) content and required actions in collaboration with other Site Supply Planners, Product Care and Master Data team utilizing the RapidResponse and PPDS tools.
  • Identify areas for improvement using KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) and track the Kankakee site’s actual performance vs. targets.
  • Provide a positive and equitable working environment emphasizing the CSL Values: Customer Focus, Innovation, Integrity, Collaboration, and Superior Performance and comply with requirements from CSL Behring’s Safety Program.
  • Complies with requirements from CSL Behring’s Safety Program, including Health and Safety mandates and OSHA requirements.
  • Completes any other duties/responsibilities assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in business, supply chain management or technical field relevant to CSL products
  • 5 years' experience minimum in manufacturing, preferably supporting manufacturing, or production planning
  • American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) Certification preferred
  • Experience in materials management systems/ SAP applications preferred
