Job SummaryLoudoun County, Virginia, is seeking applications for an experienced and highly motivated professional to serve as a Construction Field Representative to assist in the administration and on-site inspection of the work performed on complex interior renovation projects during construction and post-construction phases. This position is part of the Facility Renovation Division within the Department of Transportation and Capital Infrastructure (DTCI).
Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Ensuring work by contractors is executed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and the project schedule.
* Serving as a liaison between the contractor, architect and engineer of record.
* Coordinating with the County's Construction Manager to review the quality of the work performed during construction.
* Ensuring all inspections are scheduled, performed, and recorded, to include all regulatory agencies and third-party inspections.
* Completing daily reports and updating the County's project management software.
* Assisting with departmental moves; including coordinating move dates and logistics with end-users, scheduling movers, and overseeing onsite contractors.
The Construction Field Representative is a full-time, non-exempt hourly position, subject to a 37.5-hour work week. This position receives annual and sick leave in accordance with Loudoun County policy. High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred); four (4) years of related work experience with building trades or construction; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prior construction experience on commercial interior renovation projects is preferred.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background checks to include criminal, credit, driving, and fingerprinting.
Candidate must possess a valid driver's license. Must be able to inspect existing sites and active construction projects, often requiring walking or climbing elevated structures and uneven surfaces. May be exposed to inclement weather while in the field; Work outside normal business hours may be required from time to time when dictated by a project's construction schedule.
