Job Title: Referral Specialist

Pay Rate: $16.85/hr
Shift: M-F, will be 11:00am-8:00pm EST after training. Needs to be available M-F between 8am-9pm EST (training will be on the early shift)
Length of Assignment: 3 months, potential to extend
Location: Remote in Louisiana
Shift: Mon-Fri 8-5
Start Date: 12/5

Minimum Education/Licensures/Qualifications:

- Computer skills, Microsoft Office and Teams
- Healthcare call center experience
- Medical terminology
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred but not a must:
- HCPS/CPT coding
Best Candidate: Referral/Claims/Prior Auth Specialist with 2+ years in managed care
Summary:
Assist in monitoring utilization of medical services to assure cost effective use of medical resources through processing prior authorizations
Job Responsibilities:
Initiate authorization requests for outpatient and inpatient services in accordance with the prior authorization list. Route to appropriate staff when needed. Verify eligibility and benefits Answer phone queues and process faxes within established standards Data enters authorizations into the system
Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.0-2 years of experience
