Assistant Store Manager

*Position Summary*

The assistant manager works closely with the manager to assist in overseeing the day to day operation of the store, ensuring exceptional customer service, driving sales, assisting manager in employee supervision and inventory management.

*Objectives*
* Assist the manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the store. This includes providing support, guidance, and direction to staff members as needed.
* Play a key role in ensuring excellent customer service. Handle customer inquiries or complaints, and strive to resolve issues in a timely and satisfactory manner.
* Assist the manager in supervising and directing the staff. This can include assigning tasks, providing training, and ensuring that work is completed accurately and efficiently.
* Maintain accurate inventory levels through regular stock checks, replenishment orders, and efficient stock management practices.
* Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and security measures.
* Assist in executing set directives, strategies to achieve sales targets and optimize store performance

*Competencies *
* Retail experience.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Strong customer service orientation with a genuine desire to assist customers.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Detail-oriented with good organizational and time management skills.
* Basic sales techniques to promote products, upsell, and close sales effectively.
* Familiarity with the products or services offered by the store and the ability to learn and retain information about new items.
* Basic math skills for processing transactions and handling cash.
* Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as per the store's schedule.

*Education and experience*
* Must be 18 years old
* Thrives in a customer first based retail environment
* Previous experience in a retail or customer service role is preferred.
* Reliable transportation to and from work

*Physical requirements*
* Must be able to safely climb a ladder.
* Moving and standing for long periods of time.
* Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling and moving items up to 45lbs.
