Ground Person Hot Mix Asphalt (E. Tetz and Sons) - Full-time

Job Summary:

The primary role of the Grounds Person is to work under the direction of the Plant Manager as a crew member. As a Grounds Person, you are responsible for all duties involving plant operations and maintenance.

Essential Functions:

1. Protect Family and Friends. Follow all Company Safety Policies and Procedures. Upon start of work be prepared with proper PPE.
2. Climb ladders and work at elevations while maintaining safe work practices.
3. Mastery. Work in a hands-on construction environment, handling hot mix asphalt and other construction materials, shoveling, raking, operating equipment, and performing daily workplace exams of working areas.
4. Dedication. Help prepare/stage materials, tools for plant maintenance projects. Maintain proper care of tools and equipment.
   
5. Follow Manager's instruction to monitor plant operation throughout the day and meet established deadlines
6. Communicate using two-way radios and hand signals.

Requirements, Education and Experience:

1. High School Diploma or GED preferred.
2. Asphalt plant production experience, preferred
3. Electrical and Stick/Mig Welding experience a plus
4. Willingness to work variable shifts and overtime as needed
5. Strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot systems
6. Strong communication skills, proficient verbal and written English.
7. Valid driver's license.
8. Legal right to work in U.S.

Travel by personal vehicle throughout the work region.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up-to 10 pounds of force frequently, and or a negligible amount of force constant to move objects. Job involves sitting, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, and bending for brief periods of time in all types of weather. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, to communicate to employees/visitors.
