Plant Manager (Req #: 788) - Full-time

Job Summary:

As an Quarry and Asphalt Plant Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our quarry and asphalt plant, prioritizing efficient production, safety protocols, and environmental responsibility. Your role entails supervising staff, organizing equipment upkeep, and collaborating with different departments to achieve production goals while upholding stringent quality and safety standards. Moreover, you will handle budgetary matters, control expenses, and strive to meet key performance indicators (KPIs) pertaining to production output, safety measures, and financial objectives.

Essential Functions:

Provide leadership, resources and processes to ensure reliable, quality driven plant operations. This includes coordinating production scheduling, ordering raw materials, parts and supplies. 3. Take ownership in leading the safe operations of the asphalt plant and equipment to produce quality products that meet applicable specifications which meet customer expectations.
4. Communicate with customers to provide added value with quality, service, production, and scheduling.
5. Results matter. Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production and performance goals. Understand the financial goals and actions to achieve them. Develop the annual budget, winter maintenance and capital expenditure plans.
6. Honesty and truth. Identify and resolve regulatory, safety, personnel, and production problems, either directly or indirectly by partnering with cross functional teams, in a timely and effective manner.
7. Ensure preventative maintenance schedules are implemented while reducing downtime.
8. Working with our Technical Services department to ensure compliance with all operating permit conditions and applicable environmental laws and regulations while developing the mine site in accordance with the operating plan.
9. Our word is our bond. Be the lead advocate for our operations in the community. Respect and engage with neighbors, local agencies, governmental agencies and the wider community.

Requirements, Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineeting or equivalent preferred.
2. Quarry and Asphalt plant production experience, preferably with at least 3 years of experience. Quality control experience would be advantageous.
3. Demonstrate high ethical standards and a dedicated commitment to safety.
4. Strong mechanical and plant operations knowledge.
5. Proficient with Microsoft Office.
6. Excellent spoken and written communication skills across all levels of employees.
7. Valid driver’s license.
8. Proven dependability, organization, problem solving and adaptability skills.
9. High degree of accuracy, thoroughness and attention to details.
10. Legal right to work in USA.

Travel:

Position may require up to 10% travel by personal vehicle to offices throughout the state of New York, and New England based on the needs of the business. The company does offer a vehicle reimbursement program.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up-to 10 pounds of force frequently, and or a negligible amount of force constant to move objects. Job involves sitting, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, and bending for brief periods of time in all types of weather. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, to communicate to employees/visitors.
