Structural Steel Estimator

Will be responsible for estimating the costs of projects that are being bid on. Able to read blueprints and measure columns and beams in order to calculate the cost to customer. Able to effectively quote and communicate with customers and staff.

Ability to read, understand and interpret Job Specific drawings, specifications and other documents (addenda, RFI’s, scopes of work, etc.)
Communicating with companies requesting a Project bid. (i.e. General Contractors/Erectors/Owners).
Complete take off’s / piece count from structural and architectural drawings.
Build formal proposals and email to all appropriate parties.
Follow up with proposals within the weeks post bid.
Communicate with current office staff and Project Managers on a daily, weekly, required basis.
Evaluating bid specifications and drawings per the bid documents
Developing and calculating complete takeoff derived from the scope of work including materials and shop labor.
Ability to designate direction to assistants for materials pricing, buyout quote requests, addendums etc

Experience & Education

Minimum 2-5 years of experience estimating & bidding structural steel projects
Knowledge of architectural and structural plans is essential
Experience in structural and miscellaneous steel in mandatory
Great verbal and written communication skills
Working well under pressure with positive attitude
General understanding of AISC and OSHA requirements.
Experience with FabTrol and Bluebeam preferred but not required
Proficient in Microsoft Office

Dayshift position 7am to 4pm 

Pay: $25-30
