Machinist 4/5 Axis

Summary

The position of Machinist 4/5 Axis is responsible for the operation, set-up & utilization of the 4/5-Axis milling machines as well as other processes used.

Essential Functions

1. Inspect manufactured components for conformance to specifications
2. Ability to set up and operate CNC Milling Machines, including but not limited to 4 and 5-Axis
3. Support for programming, ensuring proper use of programs & tools
4. Ability to work from travelers, blueprints, set up sheets, drawings, and/or verbal instructions as well as limited judgment and experience to plan and accomplish goals.
5. Able to use appropriate measuring devices, such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, plug gages, etc.
6. Maintain a clean work area daily as required.

Requirements

Required:

1. Able to understand complex machining theory and strategy
2. Ability to manage and prioritize a high number of set-ups and short-run jobs
3. Able to understand and interrogate complex mechanical drawings and tolerances
4. Ability to use common machine shop hand and measurement tools
5. Ability to set-up and run multiple CNC Machines in a fast-paced environment
6. Fixture design, fabrication, and manual machining experience is a plus
7. Ability to read, write and speak effectively in English
8. Understand and follow Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance standard (GD&T)
9. Strong math skills required
10. Aerospace manufacturing experience: 10 yrs. minimum experience)
11. Prior experience in an aerospace prototype/ job shop environment preferred
12. Self-motivation, able to accomplish a high level of work
13. Team player, actively participating in continuous improvement projects with coworkers.
14. Demonstrate high skill level with the desire for continuous learning
15. Experience working in AS9100 and ISO environment

Salary Description

$25.00 - $50.00/hr.
