Oil States is currently looking for qualified candidates for the position of Machinist II for our Tulsa, Oklahoma location in our organization, the Machinist II has a critical and challenging role in helping achieve innovation and meeting our commitments.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Edits, sets up, and operates CNC and manual machines. Performs diversified tasks relating to those machines to machine parts according to prints and other specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reads and interprets blueprints and drawings to machine parts.
  • Sets up and operates conventional and CNC machines.
  • Reworks molds and tool damage
  • Experience with TIG/MIG welding
  • Completes related paperwork
  • Makes offset changes and operates CNC and manual machines to manufacture parts per drawings or instructions.
  • Inspects all parts so that specified dimensions are met using micrometers, calipers, or other devices.
  • Gets correct tooling for the job, and set ups under supervision.
  • Maintains work area and keeps machines clean.
  • Shows desire and ability to learn.
  • Perform all tasks as required of a Safety Sensitive position.


OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Visualizes and studies blueprints
  • Assists lesser skilled CNC Operators
  • Operating EDM machine (optional)
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Ability to contribute to the team's success

  • Exercises good judgment
  • Mentors' other machinist


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Training in basic programming and operating CNC machines or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience or one year plus a formal education in programming and operating CNC machines or similar manual machines, in a related industry.
  • Basic mathematical skills and additional skills in geometry and trigonometry preferred
  • Experience with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, measuring, and hand tools
  • Basic computer skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to follow detailed and complex instructions


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent bending, standing, walking, kneeling, reaching, and climbing
  • The repetitive motion of finger, wrist, elbow, shoulder, or neck movement
  • Reading
  • Use of vibrating tools
  • Hearing and speaking clearly
  • Occasional lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Lifting from floor to waist
  • Pushing/pulling forces up to/over 40 lbs.
  • Reaching from shoulder level or below
  • Seeing to distinguish colors, visually inspect items, and to measure/assemble at a close distance
  • Use of power tools and machinery


WORK ENVIRONMENT/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Exposure to smoke/dust
  • Working in hot/ warm environments
  • High noise level
  • Bright environment or lighting
