Description

Overview of the Position:
Perform and document receiving inspections, raw material inspections, piece part inspections, preliminary inspections, hidden damage inspections, first article inspections, in-process inspections, and conformity inspections, final inspections, shipping inspections or any special inspections, per established quality procedures. Identify, control and document non-conforming materials per established quality procedures for the PHS/MWA repair station. Review final work order package prior to units being sent to shipping. Perform and document internal audits. The Quality Control Specialist has the responsibility and authority to perform assigned tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform and document receiving inspections for raw materials, parts and units, per established quality procedures.
  • Provides compliance oversight of Quality tools / systems to maintain effective, compliant, and validated systems per regulatory requirements and Quality Policies.
  • Support Quality system processes in compliance with FAA and Customer requirements
  • Review and release Drawings, Work Orders, and Purchase Orders for accuracy and compliance to process or drawing.
  • Validate and approve tooling equivalencies and ETML.
  • Initiate and collaborate with others on CAPAs, NCMRs, Change Orders, Deviations, etc.
  • Identify and generate Non-Conformance reports
  • Perform in process and final inspection of finished articles.
  • Ensure manufacturing areas are set-up correctly and free of unnecessary materials
  • Assist in ensuring that all policies and procedures comply with FAA regulations and standards.
  • Contribute to the review and revision and/or authoring of SOPs, Work Instructions and other Quality related docs
  • Other duties may also be assigned.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Good communication and problem solving skills for working in a team oriented environment
  • Any previous inspection or aerospace industry related experience is a plus
  • Technical Ability - Minimum of 3 years experience. Be familiar with 14 CFR 145 requirements.

Education / Experience Requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred and 3 years of related experience or some combination of education and experience is possible depending on experience.
